ALASKA SNOW TOURS

Join us in the Valley of the Eagles near Haines, Alaska, where thousands of bald eagles gather to feed upon a late run of chum salmon in what is know as the world’s largest gathering of eagles.

Since time immemorial, bald eagles have been drawn to this area. Each winter they gather along the open waters of the Chilkat River to feed upon spawned-out salmon carcasses. Up to 3,500 or more bald eagles have been counted during peak congregation times in mid-November.

The awesome sight of cottonwood trees filled to capacity with eagles as hundreds more stand sentinel along river flats waiting to tear apart fish carcasses with their powerful beaks and talons is a spectacle never to be forgotten.

Timed to coincide with the height of the eagle congregation, this workshop practically guarantees photographers unlimited opportunities to capture breathtaking images of our nation’s symbol of freedom.

Small group size allows in-depth instruction along with a high degree of personalized attention for beginners and professionals alike. You’ll learn how to make award winning wildlife images. A special program is planned for you each and every day.

Cruising Alaska
A land of spectacular rugged beauty, people can do things in Alaska that they can't do anywhere else on the planet; stand on a glacier, witness a pod of whales, lead a dog-sledding team, and step back in time to history's biggest gold rush, all enjoyed with a backdrop of shimmering fjords and snow-capped, towering peaks. Whether you are revelling in the magnificent beauty of Alaska from a teak chair on a grand ship, or plying the wilderness by luxury rail or motorcoach, experiencing Alaska is thrilling and unforgettable.

Which cruise to take - the Inside Passage or the Glacier Route?
There are two ways to discover Alaska by ship. The Classic Inside Passage cruise offers a 7-day cruise along the Inside Passage, round trip from Vancouver to Alaska's most picturesque ports of call - Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and a full day in Glacier Bay or Hubbard Glacier, while the Glacier Discovery cruise travels 7 days from Vancouver all the way to Anchorage (or the opposite direction), adds a scenic cruise through College Fjord to your itinerary, and offers the option of extending your trip to include a land tour of Alaska's inland scenery.
